Pattern

  • 普通形・ですます形+から plain or polite form + から
  • 理由+から、結果 reason + から, result

How to use it

State the reason first and the result after it: 寒いから、窓を閉めます. You can also end an answer with 〜からです.

Politeness

For politeness use 〜ですから or 〜ますから. In conversation, plain 〜から is fine.

Difference from ので

から states the speaker’s own reasoning more strongly. ので gives the reason more softly, as a matter of fact.
